30 days of lipstick: days 26 through 30

IT’S FINALLY DONE! FINALLY! I’m so glad I did this but I’m so tired of remembering to put on lipstick and take a selfie every day, because as much as I love doing both of those things, I don’t actually ever remember to do them every single day. Plus I can’t/don’t wear a lot of lipstick at work and it made this challenge a lot harder since I work three or four days a week! But I did it and I’m done and I can celebrate by beginning to plan my next lipstick series.

So here we go, onto the last days of the 30 days of lipstick challenge!

Day twenty six: Clinique High Impact Lip Color in Red-y to Wear

I got this from an aunt a while ago and while I’ve tried it once or twice, I can’t remember ever wearing it, so I put it in my pile of lipsticks for the challenge. Turns out I actually love the color and this might be up there with my favorite red lipsticks (and I’m definitely a red lipstick type of girl so I have a lot). It stays so well and the color is just amazing, I love it!

Day twenty seven: NYX Matte Lipstick in Perfect Red

This is one of those lipsticks that I probably didn’t need but I love nonetheless. I’ve tried it on but I’ve never actually worn it before, so I wore it with my Chile jersey the other night and I loved the look! Much like the other matte lipsticks NYX has, it’s kind of drying, but if worn with primer isn’t too bad.

Day twenty eight: Wet N Wild MegaLast Lip Color in Stoplight Red

A lot of reds in this post apparently, because I unknowingly decided to leave all the reds for last? (Well… there were a lot of reds before this too.) I love Wet N Wild lipstick and this was no exception, but I also end up a little disgruntled with the round tip on the lipstick. I like tips with a bit of shape to make it easier to apply around the corner of my lips and the cupid’s bow and I always end up with a lot of lipstick on my fingers from trying to fix it. Other than that, I really did like this color and it looked great on!

Day twenty nine: Wet N Wild MegaLast Lip Color in Red Velvet

I really don’t have much more to say that I didn’t say about Stoplight Red. This was a slightly brighter red (which is kind of hard to see in the picture) but I really did like wearing it and I could see myself wearing it again. I had it on all through lunch and it stayed and barely even smudged, which is of course a huge plus.

Day thirty: ColourPop Lippie Stix in Wifey

Last but not least, we have one more ColourPop on the list. I’ll admit I wasn’t too iffy on this one just from looking at the tube, but once I put it on, I fell in love! It’s hard to see how true the color is with the filter but it’s a beautiful bright pink. Depending on the light, it can look a bit more pastel or brighter but either way, I love it! It’s a satin finish which is my favorite after matte finishes from ColourPop, and I would absolutely wear this again!

So that’s all! We’re done! Finished! How excited are you? I’m so very excited, not gonna lie. Now it’s time to start planning for my next lipstick-related post. Who’s excited to read that?

Don’t forget to follow me on instagram and twitter!

30 days of lipstick: days 21 through 25

Can you guys believe we only have two more of these posts left?! I can’t!!

Day twenty one: ColourPop Lippie Stix in Frenchie

It seems I have a recurring trend of buying too many bright red lipsticks, and I’ll admit this was definitely one of those examples. Regardless, I really do like it and I can see myself wearing it a lot! It’s fairly reminiscent of Lady Danger, but it looks a bit more red than that (Lady Danger has always seemed a bit more orange to me), so it’s enough of a difference I can justify both… right?

Day twenty two: ColourPop Lippie Stix in Bichette

This was such a beautiful color and I’ve been wanting to wear it for a while. It was perfect for my internship outfit with a white blouse and my burgundy skirt! It stayed all day and I only reapplied it after eating. It’s a color totally suited for fall and winter but when have I listened to that? I’ll keep wearing it in the middle of summer, thank you.

Day twenty three: Lancome Rouge Superbe in Sun Touched Terra

This one, I’ll admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of. It’s not that the lipstick looked bad on and it stayed really, really well, but I just wasn’t a fan of how it looked on me? So pass.

Day twenty four: ColourPop Lippie Stix in Go Fish

I have to admit I tried this one the other day (the day I wore the NYX Butter Lipstick in Pop, whenever that was) and I didn’t like it, so I switched it out for a different one instead. Trying it a second time around went much better! I don’t know what the difference was, but it just felt a lot nicer on my lips and it looked much, much better.

Day twenty five: ColourPop Lippie Stix in Bossy

Isn’t this name just so amazing? It was one of the things that attracted me to this lipstick when I first bought it. It’s a bright red matte lip that just looks and feels amazing and I love wearing it! I’m wearing it to a theme park today, so we’ll see if it stands that test, but I have high hopes.

What’d you guys think? Any lipsticks you’ve tried before? Let me know in the comments, and don’t forget to follow me on instagram and twitter.

30 days of lipstick: days 16 through 20

I can’t believe we’re almost done with these! It feels like ages ago that I was thinking about doing this challenge, and then I decided June would be the month to do it, organized the lipsticks I’d be trying, and now here I am, almost done with the whole month!

Day sixteen: ColourPop Lippie Stix in Clique

This was one of the ColourPop lippies I was really excited to get and try out, so you can imagine how awesome it felt to finally get to wear it! It went on really nicely, the color is super pigmented and it’s obviously very matte. It’s a lovely orange-ish red shade that is so nice for summer and I can tell I’ll be picking this one up again!

Day seventeen: NYX Butter Lipstick in Pops

So… I totally forgot to write about this one for the MLBB tag I posted the other day, but in my defense, it was where I store all my lipsticks for the challenge and I kind of forgot? But now you guys know that I possess this too. I wore a different one that day in the morning but I wasn’t feeling it so I switched it up to run errands in the afternoon and it felt much, much better. I wore it with liner underneath and it was super long-lasting, which I was actually really surprised about! I liked it a lot better than I thought I would, especially since I can’t remember where I got it.

Day eighteen: MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo

I know I’ve written about this before, but I never got around to wearing it so I figured I’d use it for my 30 days challenge! I saved it for a day where I had to run errands and be an adult and it was wonderful. The color is amazing and it stays through absolutely everything, but the one downside to this is that it is SO. DRYING. I won’t be getting rid of it anytime soon, but it is kind of a downer when even with primed lips it’s dragging on and taking forever to apply.

Day nineteen: NYX Matte Lipstick in Street Cred

This was one of the lipsticks I got when I was obsessed with NYX matte lipstick, and I kind of forgot about it for a really long time, to be honest? But I really really liked this color and I’m glad I got it because now that I wore it, I really love it! I’ll be completely honest though, I’ve done absolutely nothing all day so I literally just put it on to take a selfie. Oops.

Day twenty: NYX Matte Lipstick in Bloody Mary

Coincidentally, I hung out with my friend Mary today! This is another matte lipstick from NYX, and I’ve rediscovered my love for them ever since buying a ColourPop lip primer, which makes matte lipsticks sooooo much more bearable! I love this color and I’m glad to have rediscovered it.

So that’s it for today’s post! As usual, let me know what you thought and follow me on instagram and twitter.

30 days of lipstick: days eleven through fifteen

I’m back again with more lipsticks, as if my problem wasn’t bad enough already. We’re halfway through the month though, which means three (?) more posts about this and then after that I’ll probably have a weekly series of my lipstick inventory so… the point is, I’m not gonna quit talking about lipstick anytime soon.

Day eleven: Little Mix by Collection in Jesy

I was so excited to try the fourth and last lipstick from my Little Mix by Collection makeup fault, and it didn’t disappoint! It was bright and bold and beautiful and stayed on for a while, even after eating and drinking and running errands. And coincidentally, it’s a really good dupe for MAC’s Lady Danger.

Day twelve: Maybelline Color Vivids in On Fire Red

It took me like 30 minutes to figure out what the hell this was and it wasn’t until I asked my friend who I hung out with that day who mentioned I’d been complaining about it all day because I didn’t even eat or drink and it came off and while it was soft and smooth it was not what I’d been expecting from a Maybelline lipstick, especially since I love those.

Day thirteen: ColourPop Lippie Stix in Gossip

I don’t usually wear colors like this to work so this was a nice break from the other ones I’ve worn so far. It was a really pretty color and it stayed on really well, and while you can tell I did not exfoliate my lips prior to wearing this, it wasn’t too drying and I really liked it!

Day fourteen: ColourPop Lippie Stix in Punky

This one was another one of those I wouldn’t get away with wearing at work, so I just wore it on my way in and took it off before I clocked in! The life of a theme park team member, I suppose. As you can probably tell, it’s a really fun color and I loved wearing it! It’s a satin finish (as is Gossip, actually) and it felt nice and smooth going on and not at all drying.

Day fifteen: CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Flame

This was one of those I haven’t worn in a really long time so that’s why it was included in my 30 day challenge and I’m really glad I did because I was surprised by how much I loved it! It’s a little pinker than I expected but I loved the color and it stayed on pretty much all day, I only needed a touch up after lunch and after leaving work.

Have you guys owned/heard about any of these? What do you think?

30 days of lipstick: days six through ten

Hi again! Time for the second installment in my 30 days of lipstick series. I bet you’re all super excited!! I know I am. If you missed that post or you’re new around here, I’ll catch you up: a few weeks ago, I realized I have an abnormally large collection of lipstick, and in all my frantic lipstick buying, I had forgotten about products I haven’t worn in a while or even ones I’ve never worn, so I challenged myself to wear a different lipstick from those mentioned above every day for 30 days, and that brings us to this post! Let’s get right to it, shall we?

Day six: ColourPop Lippie Stix in LBB

First up in the post is this beauty from one of my ColourPop hauls. The ColourPop website describes this as a “rich plum wine with a matte finish.” I originally bought this because I wanted something that was a little out of my comfort zone, as I tend to stick with brighter shades and shy away from dark lipstick. I absolutely love it and I’m so glad I got it! It’s a little more plum than I thought it would be (I had pictured it as more of a dark red) but there is a beautiful dark red on ColourPop I might invest in next time I shop there!

Day seven: The Lip Bar in Purple Rain

This was one of those products I instantly fell for because of the packaging, but absolutely adored because of the product itself! I’d pictured it as a darker more Heroine-like purple, but it’s almost got a pastel quality to it that I absolutely love! I would wear this over and over again (and invest in more of their lipsticks as well) since it’s so nice and so soft! It’s creamy and goes on very smoothly. It came in my first ever BoxyCharm and boy am I glad it did. If you have a chance, definitely check out their site for some beautiful high quality colors!

Day eight: Little Mix by Collection in Leigh-Anne

I wore this for my internship and was absolutely impressed with it. I already really liked the Little Mix ones I wore last week so when I picked this up, I was really excited to try it! It stayed put all day, even through lunch and the six cups of water I drink every day. Plus the packaging is super cute and that always makes me happy.

Day nine: MAC lipstick in Impassioned

You might have seen this one (briefly) on my wish list post that went up the other day… oops? Turns out I already had this in my MAC arsenal, which just goes to show I should do an inventory of lipstick. This one was a gift (possibly Christmas or Valentine’s Day) from my ex-girlfriend and let’s just say that it’s exactly the kind of color I’m into so I’ll be keeping this one around! I mean, who gets rid of MAC lipstick because your ex-girlfriend gave it to you?

Day ten: Wet N Wild MegaLast Lip Color in Don’t Blink Pink

Everyone raves about the two dollar Wet N Wild lipsticks that apparently are wonderful so I gave in and bought two (I had another one I rarely wore which is going to be featured on here sooner or later). Needless to say, they didn’t disappoint! This one was beautifully bright and I loved it, I just wish I had exfoliated my lips before wearing! Definitely very matte and long lasting.

So that’s it for now! Do you own any of the lipsticks I wore the last five days?

30 days of lipstick: days one through five

A few weeks ago, I was looking at my collection of lipstick and I thought to myself, shit, I own so much lipstick. With the order of ColourPop lipstick I got a few weeks ago, I had a lot of lipstick I’d never worn, too! So in an effort to use all this lipstick I’ve never worn, rarely wear, and haven’t worn in a while, I challenged myself to wear a different lipstick that wasn’t one in my go-to stash every day for thirty days.

Without any further ado, I give you the first five days of my lipstick challenge!

Day one: Little Mix by Collection in Perrie

Okay, so I kind of cheated for this one. I’ve worn it once before, but I barely put it on long enough to take a selfie in it and instagram it, so I decided I didn’t count. This was one of my newest purchases (you can see my post about the Little Mix by Collection makeup I got here) and probably 50% of the reason I wanted to buy all the Little Mix makeup in the first place! I absolutely love the color and I love how it looks on me so I’ll probably wear it all the time after my lipstick challenge is over. It stays pretty well and I only had to reapply it twice after eating/drinking and it feels great and not at all drying on my lips!

Day two: Little Mix by Collection in Jade

Once again, Little Mix lipstick proved to be a great investment, especially for the price. I wore this to my little brother’s middle school graduation and it looked and felt great on my lips! It’s super smooth and not at all drying and I’m definitely glad I got this one along with the Perrie one because I can tell I’m going to love wearing it.

Day three: City Color Be Matte Lipstick in Cappuccino

I’ll be completely honest, I’m not entirely sure where I got this from. Chances are it was from my ipsy, because I definitely would remember buying it! I never bothered to pick it up because until I started my internship, I never really bothered with nude lipstick, but all of a sudden, I’m all about it! I never wear lipstick to my part-time job because it’s usually hot and I go a long time without being able to check on my lipstick, but maybe in the winter, I’ll start wearing lipstick to work. Anyway, I digress. I was actually pretty surprised with how much I liked this one! It was definitely very matte and, as you can probably see, needs exfoliating before wearing it, but it stayed on pretty much all day, and even after I ate dinner, it was pretty in place.

Day four: Maybelline Color Sensational in Sweet Nectar

This was one of those things acquired in a makeup trade-off with one of my friends. I looked at it and thought why not, and then promptly forgot about it for a year and a half until I picked it up to wear this month! I was surprised with how much I liked it, though, and I would definitely wear it again. I didn’t wear it very long because I was on my way into work when I took the picture so I can’t say much about that but it felt great on and I loved the color!

IMG_4906Day five: ColourPop Lippie Stix in Flawless

As soon as I typed that, I got the Beyonce song stuck in my head. And you probably did too now. Oops? I didn’t wear this very long because I worked all day at my part-time job and then I had to go to an event for one of my internships, so I wore it to that and promptly took it off when I got home (after I took a selfie of course). For what it’s worth, it did stay in place all through the event, even after a few drinks! I absolutely love the color for this one, and I like that it’s a little darker than Heroine so I don’t feel bad for owning too much purple lipstick.

So that’s the first five days of my lipstick challenge! Look for my next post about this in five more days. Thanks for reading and let me know what you think! :)
