Hi loves! I hope everyone is doing well and that not too many of you are suffering from bad winter weather. I wouldn’t know, as I’m still in Chile enjoying the nice summer weather (not overwhelmingly hot like in Florida) and I’m missing all the cool weather in Florida (as well as that nasty winter storm).
Today’s post is in collaboration with my beautiful best friend Kira! We decided to collab on something a while back and had the idea of doing something along the lines of the $20 makeup challenge. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a bit of an oldie but a goodie, but the gist of it is that you create a makeup look using products you bought with a $20 budget. Silly but super fun!
Check me out browsing products so focused and all in Walgreens! We did this before I left for Chile (obviously) and brought my adorable little sister with us. We didn’t photograph her look or anything (I barely remembered to photograph my own, whoops!) but she did go home with a bunch of new goodies!
Ah, the lovely luminescent lights of a Walgreens beauty aisle…
But anyway, let’s go on to what you’re all here to read about, right?
With my 20 dollars, I decided to do a simple, effortless look that wouldn’t require too much product. Most of the products I got were from Wet n Wild, which is actually one of my favorite drugstore brands! Here’s a list of the products I got:
- Wet n Wild Mega Glow Illuminating Palette
- Wet n Wild Coverall Concealer
- Wet n Wild Eyeshadow in Nutty
- Wet n Wild Mega Protein Mascara
- Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Uptown Mauve
- Rimmel 1000 Kisses Stay On Lip Liner in Cherry Kiss
Now, because I’m a doofus, I forgot to take a selfie with the look I created before I left the house and effectively sweated it all off. Thankfully, I did take a few (a lot) when I was hanging out with my friends that day, so I have something to show for my work at least!
Behold us looking super cute when we went to see Grace sing at SeaWorld for the holidays! Also, isn’t my shirt amazing?
So I know it’s not ideal, but it was a very very simple look, so you’re really not missing out on much here. (And honestly, Grace’s makeup looks ten times better than mine, we should all be fawning over her instead.)
I will say though that the Milani lipstick I got was extremely alike a MAC lipstick I wanted to get but found out is limited edition (it’s called Fashion Revival and it’s beautiful) so I’m really glad I got the Milani one, it’s such a beautiful color!
Alright, my friends, that’s all we have for today. Check out Kira’s post on the challenge and don’t forget to follow them! Hope you guys enjoyed the post and I’ll be seeing you again next week!
