Mini NYX haul: last one, I promise

Okay, so I know I said I was starting my No Spend July early, but this one I couldn’t possibly pass up. See, the other day, I walked into Ulta with my friend Erika thinking I wouldn’t spend any money, that I’d be good and leave my wallet in the car, and as soon as we drove up, we saw giant signs proclaiming that NYX was 40% off that day.

How could I resist?

So I did my best to be good and not go over the top, and I only spent ten dollars! But I did get stuff I needed or didn’t have any of and stuff I’ve been wanting to try for a while.

So here’s what I got:

  • First up, we have the Dark Circle Concealer. I heard mixed reviews about this but since I haven’t found any concealers I love and I mostly need it for my dark circles, I figured it was worth a shot! I haven’t tried it out first but when I do I will definitely let you guys know.
  • Then I got the Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. I heard from a lot of people that it’s a really good eyeshadow base to make your eyeshadow look more pigmented and for colors to pop more so I figured it would be a good staple in my makeup bag!
  • Lastly, I got a double pencil sharpener since I have a lot of pencil eyeliner and lip liners that remained unsharpened… but not anymore!

Here’s a swatch of the Jumbo Eye Pencil! As you can see, it’s a pretty stark white, especially considering this is just one swipe and I didn’t lay it on to thick.

After this, I promise I’m done. To be fair, I bought these things on June 30th!

Is anyone else trying a No Spend July? Let me know in the comments, and don’t forget to follow me on instagram and twitter!

  1. Hahaha “last one, promise” riiiiiight. ;)
I receive promotional emails on a daily basis “40% off!” “come back, we miss you, here’s a special promo code for you!” I must ignore them all! That said, nice little haul – you didn’t go TOO crazy! :P
A word of caution with the jumbo eye pencil – they can crease if you apply too much, so make sure to use a tiny amount in a sheer layer. And if you have oily lids, it might be best to apply over an eyelid primer.
Double eye pencil sharpeners are a must! I have a bunch of them lol.
Looking forward to seeing your reviews / thoughts on your purchases! :)
