30 days of lipstick: days one through five

A few weeks ago, I was looking at my collection of lipstick and I thought to myself, shit, I own so much lipstick. With the order of ColourPop lipstick I got a few weeks ago, I had a lot of lipstick I’d never worn, too! So in an effort to use all this lipstick I’ve never worn, rarely wear, and haven’t worn in a while, I challenged myself to wear a different lipstick that wasn’t one in my go-to stash every day for thirty days.

Without any further ado, I give you the first five days of my lipstick challenge!

Day one: Little Mix by Collection in Perrie

Okay, so I kind of cheated for this one. I’ve worn it once before, but I barely put it on long enough to take a selfie in it and instagram it, so I decided I didn’t count. This was one of my newest purchases (you can see my post about the Little Mix by Collection makeup I got here) and probably 50% of the reason I wanted to buy all the Little Mix makeup in the first place! I absolutely love the color and I love how it looks on me so I’ll probably wear it all the time after my lipstick challenge is over. It stays pretty well and I only had to reapply it twice after eating/drinking and it feels great and not at all drying on my lips!

Day two: Little Mix by Collection in Jade

Once again, Little Mix lipstick proved to be a great investment, especially for the price. I wore this to my little brother’s middle school graduation and it looked and felt great on my lips! It’s super smooth and not at all drying and I’m definitely glad I got this one along with the Perrie one because I can tell I’m going to love wearing it.

Day three: City Color Be Matte Lipstick in Cappuccino

I’ll be completely honest, I’m not entirely sure where I got this from. Chances are it was from my ipsy, because I definitely would remember buying it! I never bothered to pick it up because until I started my internship, I never really bothered with nude lipstick, but all of a sudden, I’m all about it! I never wear lipstick to my part-time job because it’s usually hot and I go a long time without being able to check on my lipstick, but maybe in the winter, I’ll start wearing lipstick to work. Anyway, I digress. I was actually pretty surprised with how much I liked this one! It was definitely very matte and, as you can probably see, needs exfoliating before wearing it, but it stayed on pretty much all day, and even after I ate dinner, it was pretty in place.

Day four: Maybelline Color Sensational in Sweet Nectar

This was one of those things acquired in a makeup trade-off with one of my friends. I looked at it and thought why not, and then promptly forgot about it for a year and a half until I picked it up to wear this month! I was surprised with how much I liked it, though, and I would definitely wear it again. I didn’t wear it very long because I was on my way into work when I took the picture so I can’t say much about that but it felt great on and I loved the color!

As soon as I typed that, I got the Beyonce song stuck in my head. And you probably did too now. Oops? I didn’t wear this very long because I worked all day at my part-time job and then I had to go to an event for one of my internships, so I wore it to that and promptly took it off when I got home (after I took a selfie of course). For what it’s worth, it did stay in place all through the event, even after a few drinks! I absolutely love the color for this one, and I like that it’s a little darker than Heroine so I don’t feel bad for owning too much purple lipstick.

So that’s the first five days of my lipstick challenge! Look for my next post about this in five more days. Thanks for reading and let me know what you think! :)
